The Back to the Future trilogy has been my favourite films since I was really little as I have been really obsessed with timetravel and all different theories.
In BTTF Part 1, Doc Brown invents a time machine out of a Delorean. The time machine works because of the flux capacitor which harnesses the 1.21 Gigawatts of power (from the Plutonium and Lighntning in Part 1 and the Mr Fusion power converter in parts 2 and 3) and when the Delorean hits 88mph, the power travels down the three glowing rods (Quantum tubes) which forces microwaves to flow in one direction towards the Central Capacitor in a process known as Quantum Tunneling.
Quantum Tunneling is a phenomenon in theoretical physics where particles move through barriers effortlessly, that they should not be able to overcome, as if the barrier isn't there at all.
This creates a brace of wormholes accelerating at different velocities relative to each other. A wormhole is created by the Delorean by harnessing two black holes, entangling them and then separating them again. On the exterior of the Delorean there are flux bands which allow the car to travel smoothly through the wormhole when it reaches 88mph, entering the wormhole at one point in space and time and exit in the same space but different time.

Although there are a few flaws in the timeline of the films and the different timelines that are used, overall the films are very cleverly made, taking into account even the smallest details which people might not notice. Some of my favourites are:
At the beginning of Part 1, when Marty enters the carpark to meet Doc and see the Delorean for the first time, you may notice that the sign says "Twin Pines Mall". Doc even makes a comment about "This have certainly changed around HERE. I remember when this was all farm land as far the eye could see. Old man Peabody owned all of this. He had this crazy idea about breeding pine trees." When Marty travels back to 1955 for the first time, we can see the name Peabody on the letterbox of the property he has driven into. As he leaves the property, Marty runs over one of the two pinetrees at the exit of the driveway and Peabody shouts after him, "You've killed a Pine!!" When Marty returns to 1985, the sign of the mall has changed and now reads "Lone Pine Mall" as the twin pine was killed by Marty in 1955.
I also really love that at the end of Part 1, when Marty wakes up in his house, "Back In Time"By Huey Lewis and The News plays on the radio. 1. Its a great song love it (hence it is the music of this page :P) but also because it bacically states everything that happend to Marty, which could allue to the fact it could've all been a dream influenced by the song on the radio but obviously we know this is not the case.
